Born in Alicante.
Made to last.
Where it started
Swallow opened in October 2023 in a small, run-down bar on Plaza del Carmen that had seen better days. Low ceilings, no natural light, everything painted black. We signed the lease anyway. There were only a handful of specialty coffee shops in the city, but the specialty coffee culture thriving in London, Copenhagen and Barcelona had barely arrived. We wanted to be part of changing that.
A space that gives something back
We serve specialty coffee because we care about what's in the cup. We roast our own coffee, and we try to serve each cup in a way that does justice to the work that went into it.
Every cup coffee is the end of a very long journey. By the time it reaches our shop, it has passed through more pairs of hands, across more borders, than most people ever stop to consider. We think that's worth remembering.

Coffee we're proud of
We serve specialty coffee because we genuinely believe it's worth the extra care. Every coffee we offer has been grown by producers who put real thought into their raw material – the variety, the processing, the altitude, the season. We roast our own coffee, and we try to serve each cup in a way that does justice to the work that went into it.
A really good cup of coffee is one of life's simpler pleasures. We take it seriously without losing sight of that.
Building on what we've started
In 2026, Swallow was named one of Spain's 100 Best Coffee Shops. We are proud, and grateful to the team that earns it every day. For now, we are one café in the old town of Alicante, but the things we care about can travel. We're building towards that.
